Benchmark Institute is a training and performance development
organization dedicated to increasing the quality and quantity of
legal services to low-income communities.
Jane Moran, Law Office of Jane Moran, West Virginia,
focuses on protecting abused and neglected children, furthering the cause of
workers, and defending low-income people accused of crimes.
A master trial lawyer and oral advocate, she has argued before the United
States Supreme Court and regularly appears before the West Virginia Supreme
Court and Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Before establishing her own practice she worked for Appalachian Research and
Defense Fund and taught in law school. She also has served as an alternate
Family Law Master and Mental Health Commissioner. For her lifetime of
service she was honored by Benchmark Institute in 2003. She is core faculty
for Trial & Hearing Skills Training and Multiple Trial Advocacy.
