Scholarship Program
The Board of Directors is pleased to announce the following scholarships to Benchmark's 20th National Trial & Hearing Skills Training.

W. Alston Reddy Scholarship

Through the generosity of his friends this scholarship was established in 2002 in memory of Alston Reddy (1954-2001). A dedicated and fierce advocate for people with disabilities in Nebraska, Alston participated in our Trial & Hearing Skills Training in 1996.

Grace and Porter Lines Scholarship

This scholarship was established in memory of Grace Johnson Lines (1906-1984) and W. Porter Lines (1907 - 1999).  It is open to all staff providing legal services to poor or other underrepresented people.  Preference will be given to paralegals/advocates.

GUIDELINES

Anyone who is eligible to attend the Trial & Hearing Skills Training can apply for a scholarship.  Preference will be given to applicants who have attended the College of Advocacy or have equivalent experience.

All applicants must:
  • commit to completing all pre-training assignments
  • commit to participating fully in the entire training including arriving on time and staying through the closing ceremony.

 
APPLICATION DEADLINE – June 17, 2008
Please submit your resume, registration and scholarship application forms to Benchmark Institute by June 17, 2008.

You need not submit any payment now. If you are awarded a scholarship, the balance of your payment will be due by
July 1, 2008.

 
SELECTION
Finalists in the selection process may be contacted for a telephone interview.

All applicants will be notified of the Scholarship Committee's decisions.
